We want this site to be usable by as many people as possible, including people using screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or speech recognition.
What we aim for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. That is a target rather than a certification — we have not commissioned a formal audit, so this statement describes our intent and known position honestly rather than claiming full conformance.
What we have done
- Text and background colours are chosen to meet AA contrast ratios.
- The site works at phone width and when zoomed to 200% without content being lost.
- Headings follow a logical order, so screen readers can navigate by structure.
- Interactive controls — the offer card panels, menus and links — can be reached and operated by keyboard, and report their state to assistive technology.
- Star ratings carry a text equivalent for screen readers.
- Images carry alternative text, and decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
Known limitations
- Some third-party components — the cookie notice and the Google preferred-source button — are outside our control and may not fully meet AA.
- Older articles may contain images whose alternative text is thin or missing. We are working through these.
- We have not yet tested against every screen reader and browser combination.
Tell us if something does not work
If you hit a barrier on this site, please tell us through our contact page and say what you were trying to do and what got in the way. We treat accessibility reports as bugs and will tell you what we intend to do about it. If we cannot fix something quickly, we will try to give you the information another way.
