Every site listed here has been through the same assessment. This page explains what we look at, how ratings are arrived at, and what would get a site removed.
What we assess
- Licensing. We list operators holding a Great Britain Gambling Commission licence. We check the licence number against the Commission’s public register. An operator without one is not listed, whatever it pays.
- The offer, in full. Not the headline — the terms underneath it. Wagering requirement, qualifying deposit, maximum withdrawal, eligible games, expiry, and what is excluded. A large bonus with a heavy cap can be worth less than a small clean one.
- Whether “no wagering” is real. The claim gets checked against the written terms, because it is applied inconsistently across the industry.
- Withdrawals. Methods, stated processing times, minimum withdrawal, and whether limits or fees apply.
- Games and rooms. Range, ticket prices, how often rooms actually fill, and which software sits behind them.
- Player protection. Whether deposit limits, reality checks, time-outs and self-exclusion are easy to find and use.
- Support. How you reach a human, during what hours, and how quickly.
How ratings work
Ratings run from 1 to 5 and reflect the assessment above, weighted towards the things that decide whether you actually keep your winnings: the honesty of the terms, and how straightforward it is to withdraw. Presentation and game count matter less. A rating is our editorial judgement, not a measurement — two reasonable people could score the same site differently.
How often we re-check
Offers are re-checked periodically and whenever an operator tells us something has changed. Despite that, terms change without notice and a listing may lag behind reality, which is why every card carries the instruction to read the operator’s own terms before depositing.
What gets a site removed
Losing its Gambling Commission licence; advertising an offer whose written terms contradict it; obstructing withdrawals; or a pattern of complaints we can corroborate. We would rather list fewer sites than list one we would not use ourselves.
Independence
We earn commission when readers open accounts through our links, and that is set out in full on our Affiliate Disclosure page. Commission does not buy a rating, a position, or a favourable verdict. We do not accept payment to remove criticism.
Corrections
If something here is wrong, tell us and we will fix it. Use our contact page, or see complaints if you want it handled formally. Corrections to anything material are made promptly.
